WHAT ARE DENTAL IMPLANTS?

They are the replacement of natural teeth that return stability, functionality and appearance to the teeth. Through a small titanium screw, implants are placed into the bone following a specific and personalized structure. An example of Dental implant is displayed in the image, it is similar to an artificial root which is designed to fit the patient’s teeth. The main function of the implant is to replace the missing teeth and give a nice look as if it was a natural tooth. The implant is placed in the place where one or more teeth are lost. The main aim of the procedure is to restore the patient’s chewing function, avoiding the pain in addition to giving a good aesthetic teeth replacement, making them look natural. The defective teeth that the patient had before, becomes a refurbished and much better denture with all functions that may have been lost as masticatory function or just smile without shame that one can feel because of a missing tooth.

DENTAL IMPLANT SURGERY

Dental implants are placed in the upper or lower jaw with a minor surgical procedure in our dental clinics. Dental implants do not harm adjacent natural teeth that are being replaced. It is necessary to take precautions after surgery implant to ensure a successful recovery. Follow the instructions of your surgeon. Firstly, the surgeon will prepare the jaw by placing an artificial root into bone. Secondly, the artificial tooth (crown) is adjusted in the space where it is supposed to be. During the first 24-48 hours after surgery implants, the surgeon places an ice pack on the patient’s face. This is to help reduce swelling and bruising. After relaxing for 48-72 hours after dental implant surgery, be sure to keep your head elevated. You can eat after implant surgery, when you’re hungry. You can start with liquid diet as broths or soups, later moving to eat bland food.
